What effects did sigmund freud and carl marx have on society today in the U.S.?
What effect do those men have on the way we clothe and what games we play.

Karl Marx had more of an effect on other countries, like the Soviet Union. He was the one who came up with the idea of communism. I guess you can say he’s indirectly a cause of the Red Scare of the 40′s/50′s.
Sigmund Freud is the founder of psychoanalysis. He has made no major impact on his society; even his theories are considered obsolete and unfalsifiable by other pyschologists. It’s mostly just pop psychology, today. One impact he’s made on the u.s. today is his repertoire of vocabulary he used to describe psychoanalysis (i.e. “denial,” “unconscious” “Freudian slip” — all Freudian terms)

thus, marxism is not the force that creates said arts, literature, painting, film, etc, the theory can only be applied to it.
Freud’s theories have impacted current psychological approaches, but true psychoanalysts are extremely rare.
