Is my wife right? My son leaves all his little plastic toy figures (knights and monsters) all over the floor.?
How do we get him to stop doing this? My wife steps on them with her bare feet. He is nine and we have told him four times that if he keeps doing it he will lose them for good. My wife thinks I should just walk on them with my cowboy boots over and over to crush them and leave the remains for him to find.
Threatening never seems to work unless there’s obvious follow-through. Maybe he doesn’t see your warnings as serious. You could try taking one away every time you see them left-out when he’s not playing with them. Make sure he has a specific place to keep them “put away”. If this doesn’t work- use your personal judgment as to whether he’s just being forgetful or rude. If he just forgets take them all away for an allotted amount of time until he keeps them put away. If he’s being rude, stomp away cowboy.
